Focal is one of the leading open-access demo days globally, with many thousands of startups applying each year.

Incubated within Episode 1, and now with its own full-time management team, Focal provides a platform for the top 1% of startups (as voted for by Focal's 250+ partner VCs) to pitch to almost every prospective investor in one go. It also democratises angel investment by allowing demo day attendees to invest small amounts in some of the startups that pitch. Episode 1 is delighted to have co-invested with other funds in Focal alumni, and will continue to do so.

Riding Unicorns is a leading entrepreneurship podcast hosted by Episode 1 General Partner, Hector Mason and James Pringle, VC at Portfolio Ventures.
